EPIPHORA TREATMENT
Lower eye lid ectropion occurs either congenital or acquired due to senility with weakness of the lower eyelid skin and muscle or trauma .
Lower Eyelid ectropion leads to dryness of the eye with recurrent infections and irritation
Causes of Lower eyelid ectropion:
1- Congenital
2-seventh nerve palsy (facial palsy)
3-Weakness of outer layers of the lower eye lid (skin and muscle)
4-trauma with scar formation
5- Lower blepharoplasty with excessive skin removal
Surgical correction of lower eyelid ectropion :
Depends on proper Examination of the causes leading to ectropion which must be done by oculoplastic surgeon ,to choose the proper surgical plan for correcting this condition and protect the eye.
