SURGICAL CORRECTION OF ENTROPION (INTERNAL ROTATION OF LID MARGIN)
Entropion of eye lids occurs due to many factors it may be congenital or acquired with age
Internal rotation of the lid and lashes leads to corneal and conjuctival erosions and ulcers and can lead to corneal opacities ,so it is an emergency and has to be corrected soon.
Proper Examination of the lid margins and eye lids and knowing the multifactorial causes of this condition is very important to choose the proper surgical intervention.
Factors which can cause eyelid Entropin:
1-Separation of Anterior and posterior lamellae of eye lids
2-Horizontal laxity
3-lateral canthus dehiscence
4-spastic conditions from internal eye lids scars like trachoma,or chronic allergic conjunctivites
Surgical correction of upper or lower entropion has alot of varieties and it depends on treating all the causes.
